Unlike traditional talk therapy, EMDR uses bilateral stimulation—such as eye movements, tapping, or sound—to help your brain reprocess distressing memories so they feel less triggering and more manageable.

EMDR can be helpful for a wide range of concerns, including trauma, anxiety, phobias, grief, childhood experiences, and stress that feels “stuck” in the body. In sessions, your therapist will guide you gently and safely through each phase of the EMDR process, ensuring you feel supported, grounded, and in control.

If you’re looking for a structured, effective approach to healing past experiences and reducing emotional distress, EMDR may be a meaningful next step in your therapeutic journey.

I hold a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Dalhousie University, a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of British Columbia.

In my practice, I work collaboratively with clients, meeting them where they are and supporting their growth, healing, and meaningful change. My approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and empowerment, with a focus on helping clients reach goals that feel authentic and achievable.

I have experience supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, disability, trauma, substance use, and chronic health challenges. My work is informed by a structural and anti-oppressive lens, recognizing the impact of inequality and systemic barriers. I value the diversity of people’s identities, cultures, and life experiences, offering an inclusive and affirming space.

My counselling approach is practical and compassionate. Using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) as a foundation, I help clients build tools to reduce stress and anxiety and increase contentment. I also draw from Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology, and Exposure Therapy to tailor our work to each client’s needs.

Outside of counselling, I enjoy cycling, studying Japanese, exploring local parks, and spending time with my two daughters.
